OVERVIEW

Timbermark is an Oxfordshire-based company providing specialized inkjet printing equipment for the timber industry with a particular focus on pallet manufacturers, sawmills and panel factories. For pallet manufacturers, Timbermark offers high resolution options to print ISPM15 stamps, logos and date information on either 2-way or 4-way pallets. Inkjet printing is faster than stencilling and safer than hot branding. A new range of printers includes a low-profile head for printing 1” high onto both sides of 2-way winged pallets. For 4-way pallets, Timbermark’s Yeacode 7SA printer system has been approved by EPAL for printing Europallets with the oval logo, the ISPM15 mark and the QR code. The printer system features Timbermark’s unique message switching app, which can ensure that each pallet block gets printed with different information and doesn’t go out of sync. The system includes a 108mm recirculating printhead, which rarely needs priming and has a throw distance of up to 30mm. This means it stays clear of stray nails and is better able to handle tolerances on the production line, where some pallets are presented closer to the printhead than others. For sawmills and panel factories, Timbermark offers high resolution printing at speeds of up to 300m/minute. This allows logos, QR codes, technical and compliance information to be clearly legible on planed timber or OSB panels. There are also options for printing on sorter lines or on end stamps as well as switching systems for transverse sorting projects. Other new products include the new Moli thermal inkjet printers, which can print at up to 1200 dpi giving a darker print. They have a new outline font feature, which gives more control over ink use and costs. Both the Moli and piezo printers can be integrated with a UV LED meaning that they will print darker onto wet timber. In addition to its fixed position printers, Timbermark offers a range of high-resolution handheld printers, printing 25mm, 50mm or 100mm high. Timbermark operates across the UK and Europe, with an HQ in Oxford, UK, and a distribution base in Belgium serving the EU market.
